WDL Computing Services Computers located within the Wilson Dental Library are available to all Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry affiliates with a USC NetID. Computers 3 Desktop computers (require USC NetID login) with access to productivity tools such as Citrix Virtual Desktop and Citrix Workspace. 1 public access computer station is available near the front desk of the library and is accessible to USC dental patients or dental researchers. Our two group study rooms and Rare Book Room include a large screen with HDMI connection. WDL Printing and Copying Services The Wilson Dental Library maintains both a USC Libraries Xerox printer (that can also make copies and scan documents) and a Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry departmental printer/copier. For more information regarding printing services at USC Libraries, please visit the USC Libraries page on printing. The Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry provides a printer/copier for use by Ostrow affiliates only. Please note that the device is on a different network and you cannot print from library computers. Ostrow affiliates using DesktopAnywhere will be able to print from their DesktopAnywhere session. All users with an account on the Ostrow domain should be able to use the device as a photocopier using their USCard. For more information about how to use the Ostrow printer/copier, please view this guide. Scanning The Wilson Dental Library maintains 1 document feed scanner for patron use. USC patrons can also use the USC Libraries Xerox printer for scanning. Power chargers and video adapters The Wilson Dental Library’s front desk has a selection of power charges and adapters available for checkout by USC students, faculty and staff. Items circulate for three hours and can be renewed at the front desk. A $1.00 per hour fee is charged for late returns (max fine of $50.00). The fee for unreturned items is the replacement cost + $10.00 service charge. USC Computer Accounts USC students, staff and faculty are issued USC NetIDs when they join the university. Additional affiliate computing accounts described below provide other groups with USC electronic services including email, USCards, Blackboard and access to library electronic resources. Affiliate Accounts USC electronic services are available to: Interns, residents, fellows Voluntary faculty Employees of USC-affiliated hospitals Visiting students and scholars Temporary agency employees Applications for affiliate accounts require sponsorship by your department chair or home department coordinator. Not all affiliates are eligible for all USC electronic service. If you did not receive a USC NetID upon being onboarded to Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC, you will not be able to access USC Libraries electronic resources.
