Overdue Items and Fines: Borrowed material must be returned on the due date and time. In addition, students who refuse to return material may lose library privileges and may be in violation of the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry’s Code of Ethics and Behavioral Guidelines. Items not returned due to an excused absence granted by the Office of Academic Affairs will have fines excused. General Collection/4 Week Loans: No late fees will accrue until 30 days after the date the material is due. On the 31st day, a $150 per item one time fine is assessed. If the item is lost, replacement charges will be assessed with the option to provide a replacement. If a replacement is provided, the $150/item late fine is waived. The minimum replacement fee for any item is $70 or market value if above that. Notices: On the 1st overdue day, you’ll receive a message that items are overdue and information on how to renew. On the 7th overdue day, you’ll receive a message that items are (2 weeks) overdue and information on how to renew. On the 14th overdue day, you’ll receive a notice that items are (1 month) overdue. On the 31st overdue day, you’ll receive a FINAL NOTICE to return or renew items immediately. WDL Reserve Items: Fines are assessd for ALL overdue RESERVE materials (books, media, chargers, etc.) at the rate of $1.00 per hour for EACH overdue Reserve item. Reserve items should be returned to the Wilson Dental Library circulation desk to ensure that items are discharged from patrons' library accounts. Unpaid fines and other fees may force the library to suspend library privileges. All fines and fees must be paid before signing out of the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. Lost Items: If the item is lost, replacement charges will be assessed with the option to provide a replacement. If a replacement is provided, the $150/item late fine is waived.
