Responsibilities

Melanee Vicedo (she/her) is the Associate Dean, Teaching, Learning & Research Engagement and Acting Associate Dean, Specialized Collections at USC Libraries. Her portfolio includes the Teaching & Learning Department, reference services, scholarly communication, research engagement, Leavey Library, and specialized libraries: Cinematic Arts Library, East Asian Library, Music Library, ONE Archives, and Special Collections.

Melanee welcomes questions about her portfolio’s areas and her professional interests, which include open educational resources, new models for library instruction and reference, and sense of belonging and connectedness in libraries and higher education. She previously held the positions of Head, Education & Social Work Library Services and Social Work Librarian at USC Libraries. Before USC, Melanee was a fellow at OCLC and was a science librarian and social science librarian at the Robert W. Woodruff Library at the Atlanta University Center. 

Education

Melanee received her Master of Library and Information Science at UCLA and her undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies at California State University, Los Angeles.
