For 15 years, the GNC has helped children and families in the communities around our University Park and Health Sciences campuses realize their dreams and aspirations. This is made possible by generous contributions from USC employees.

Dean Quinlan has pledged $5000 in additional 2009-10 budgetary funds to all USC Libraries organizational units--including individual libraries and staff departments--that reach 100% participation this year. Additionally, everyone at the USC Libraries who participates by making a donation to the GNC is automatically entered to win one of the following prizes:

-A deluxe Scripter packet which includes the book and DVD from the last four winners of the USC Libraries Scripter Award: Slumdog Millionaire, No Country for Old Men, Children of Men, and Capote.

-A signed copy of President Sample’s book The Contrarian’s Guide to Leadership.

-A pair of tickets to a USC football game.

-A gift basket that includes a USC blanket, 2 USC mugs, a copy of A University and a Neighborhood—authored by several of our resident librarians—and hot chocolate.

-Tickets to see the Noah’s Ark interactive exhibit at the Skirball Center.

-Tickets to the Natural History Museum or the La Brea Tar Pits.

The raffle will be held at the next USC Libraries general forum on Wednesday, November 11, 2009. If your name is drawn, you must be present to claim your prize.

John McIntyre of the USC Libraries office of advancement is available to speak to units of the USC Libraries to give a synopsis of the GNC kick-off meeting and give information about Dean Quinlan’s pledge for units that reach 100% participation. He will also discuss how to participate, the purpose of the GNC, and the raffle and answer questions. You can reach him at jdmcinty@usc.edu.
