Students and Faculty Embrace Science eResources

USC librarian Alan Stevens investigated recent usage patterns for nine of the most popular science indexes and electronic journals. His findings were dramatic, showing that students and faculty have embraced science eresources. During the 2007-2008 academic year, more than 12,000 full-text articles were downloaded each week from journals accessed through ScienceDirect; more than 6,000 searches per week were conducted on the Web of Knowledge; and more than 3,000 full-text articles a week were accessed through the engineering resource, IEEE.

Stevens' research shows that the Web of Knowledge has become increasingly popular since we acquired the resource four years ago.
