MaryAnn Bonino on the Doheny Family's Love of Books

February Literary Luncheon speaker MaryAnn Bonino discussed her recent book, The Doheny Mansion: A Biography of a Home. In this clip, recorded in the Intellectual Commons at the Edward L. Doheny Jr. Memorial Library, she describes the Doheny family's passion for education and collecting rare books.

Edward and Estelle Doheny were prominent philanthropists whose legacy includes many of the the Los Angeles--and university--institutions we take for granted. Built in 1932 and dedicated to the memory of their son and their lifelong passion for education, USC's beloved Doheny Library is just one of the many contributions they made to the cultural life of Southern California.
