Karen Howell, Head of Leavey Library, was elected to a USC Academic Senate Member at Large position for 2010-2011, as announced at the April 21, 2010 Senate meeting. Howell is currently completing a term as Secretary General of the Senate. Sara Tompson, Associate Dean for Public Service, was elected Public Relations Co-Chair for 2010-2011 for USC's Women in Management (WIM) organization. She is completing her second term as WIM Historian. Tompson remarked, "We welcome these opportunities for the USC Libraries to be 'at the table' of university organizations. Participation and partnership help further the Libraries' positive impact on USC."
