L.A. Downtown News Previews From Zero to Infinity

The Los Angeles Downtown News' Ryan Vaillancourt visited Doheny Library last week for an early look at From Zero to Infinity: The Story of Everything. The piece notes that the artwork by Victor Raphael and Clayton Spada blends "imagery from the realms of natural science, philosophy, religion, mythology and other cultural reference points," incorporating a diverse selection of text and graphics, like the "equation on probability by the 17th-century Swiss mathematician Jakob Bernoulli, as well some visual elements from a 16th-century Spanish astronomical treatise by Juan Pérez de Moya" featured in "Problema X."

The article also previews Notes from the Story of Everything, the complementary exhibition running in Doheny Library's Treasure Room. Notes presents many rare books and manuscripts that served as inspiration and raw material for Raphael and Spada, as well as those that explore related themes. Read the full preview here.
