Find Local News across the Country with Discover America's Story

The USC Libraries subscribe to the LexisNexis Academic e-resource, which now includes the Discover America’s Story database--providing access to local news sources and media based in small towns and rural areas. It provides unique insights into how regional differences shape perceptions of state, national, and even international issues. It's an especially good source for information about land use and environmental issues.

Discover America's Story is rich with articles relevant to geographic locations often under-reported or overlooked by mainstream news coverage. It's a great source for local news, op-eds, business news, local arts, city government, and daily life. You'll also find published legal notices and obituaries. To see a list of publications included in the collection, click the “Browse Sources” tab and type “Discover America’s Story” in the blue Find a Source box. Click the “I” icon next to the source title for more information.

You can access Discover America's Story through the LexisNexis Academic e-resource on the USC Libraries' databases page. The direct link to Discover America's Story is: https://www.lexisnexis.com/us/lnacademic/api/version1/sf?shr=t&sfi=AC00NBGenSrch&csi=355584
