Piazza universale di tutte le profesioni del mondo

Garzoni was an eclectic and encyclopedic 16th century Italian scholar and writer, producing a number of works on a wide variety of topics during a short period of time. These include texts on female saints, philosophy, natural history, and psychology and mental illness. His Piazza Universale is an example of the 16th century's interest in encyclopedic works that attempted to catalog and organize the world in order to create meaning. It is a catalog of "unusual" professions. USC's copy is an early printing of this work.
