USC Libraries Student Jobs Transition

On December 1, 2025, the USC Libraries will be transitioning to Handshake for all student worker hiring.

Please review details on the USC Career Center website about creating an account and applying for jobs on Handshake.

Please see below for common questions regarding the transition.

Do I need to do anything if I'm already employed as a student worker at the USC Libraries?

No action is needed if you're already working within the Libraries.  The rehiring process will continue to be managed by your current supervisor through the USC Provost Payroll office.

I already applied for a current job within the USC Libraries, do I need to reapply?

You do not need to reapply for a student worker position if you have submitted your application before December 1, 2025. Student Supervisors within the Libraries will have access to existing applications after December 1st. Please be aware, some positions receive hundreds of applications for a few openings and are unable to notify every applicant.

Why are the Libraries transitioning to Handshake from their current website?

The USC Libraries Student Jobs website was initially created before there was a centralized option for hiring student workers at USC.  In recent years, the USC Career Center offered University-wide access to Handshake to help students find on-campus job opportunities and USC departments and schools hire USC students. The Libraries are transitioning to Handshake to streamline the application process for students and student supervisors within the Libraries.
