Bill Dotson (he/him) serves as Acting Associate Dean, Strategic Initiatives at the USC Libraries. He leads a portfolio that includes communications, planning, and programs; the libraries’ contracts and grants office; government and foundation relations; the USC Sidney Harman Academy for Polymathic Study; the Phi Kappa Phi academic honor society; and strategic partnerships, including the L.A. as Subject research alliance of 267 archives and historical collections hosted by the USC Libraries. Bill also serves as Director of Grants for the USC Libraries. He joined the USC Libraries in 2007 and holds a Ph.D. in English literature from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in English literature from Pomona College. He has taught literature and writing classes at USC and Cal State LA.
