Susan Luftschein
Responsibilities
Sue Luftschein (she/her) serves as the Associate Dean for Distinctive Collections and Head of Special Collections in the USC Libraries. The Specialized Collections portfolio consists of the East Asian Library, Cinematic Arts Library, Music Library, ONE Archives, and Special Collections.
Sue holds a PhD in Art History from the City University of New York Graduate Center, an MLIS from UCLA with an emphasis on archival theory and practice, and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania. She has been with the USC Libraries since 2009, serving as the Herbert G. Klein Archivist, Data and Processing Archivist, and Archival and Metadata Librarian before being appointed Head of Special Collections in 2016. Prior to her arrival at USC she worked as an archivist at the Huntington Library and the J. Paul Getty Trust.
