1. What’s happening?
a. In preparation for construction in the Science and Engineering Library, we’ve begun reviewing and moving physical collections from the first floor of the library to Grand Library on the 2nd floor of the CAL building. Course reserves, the popular-science reading collection, and the Finch Collection are moving to VKC Library.
2. Why are you starting now?
a. Construction of the Baum Family Maker Space will begin on the first floor starting on Thursday, May 9, 2019. We need this time to prepare the collections, spaces, work areas, and methods of accessing the collection during construction.
3. What’s the timeline?
a. Construction begins on May 9, 2019, with a projected completion date of January 2020. Check this page for updates.
4. How will I use the collections during the renovation?
a. For items moving to Grand Library in the CAL Building, we’ll provide paging service for materials to be picked up at Leavey Library or AFA Library.
b. Materials at VKC, including course reserves, will be available during regular VKC operating hours.
c. Construction will not impact access to digital collections.
5. Where will the print collections reside when the renovation is complete?
a. All print collections will be located on the 2nd floor of the Science and Engineering Library, while the 3rd floor will be dedicated to individual and group study space.
6. What about print journals?

7. What if I need to visit USC Disability Services and Programs During Construction?

8. What if I need a place to study?
a. Our other nearby libraries provide many places to study, work on group projects, and use printers and scanners. For library hours, check Library Hours page ; additional details can be found at Library Spaces page.
