Help for Instructors

Benefits of Using Library Course Reserves

Course Reserves allows instructors to manage and create course content and students to access materials from anywhere.  Formats of electronic reserves range from PDFs, Word documents, and web links to full text journal articles, and personal uploads such as syllabi.

Instructors can request to add content and organize their course using the wide array of resources available through USC Libraries' physical and electronic collections, databases, and other resources.

Aside from submitting requests on Course Reserves, instructors have additional functions such as assigning proxy user(s) or other assigned person(s) to manage courses other than the instructor.  The proxy user can submit or cancel requests, manage course content, and clone courses.

If you need additional information, contact IDD or call (213) 740-4020.

Accessing Course Reserves

Course Reserves utilizes university authentication requiring that you use your USC Net ID and your USC email password to access the system.

Example:

If your USC e-mail is tommytrojan@usc.edu then your Net ID is also tommytrojan@usc.edu.  Your password is the same one you use to access e-mail.

If you are new to Course Reserves, you will be prompted to fill out a user information form after logging in for the first time. Course Reserves staff will review your credentials and information and if instructor, enable instructor-level privileges.

For more information about your Net ID and other USC computing accounts, please visit USC's Information Technology Services.
