Graphic Medicine at USC by Norris Medical Library intern, Renée A. Torres. Renée is finishing a Master of Library and Information science (MLIS) degree at San José State University (SJSU) this fall. Her current interest is in health sciences librarianship, particularly focusing on how LIS professionals can help support, expand, and improve culturally competent healthcare information for the healthcare industry as well as academic and local communities. 

Workshop description:

Interested in learning more about Graphic Medicine? This workshop will provide an overview of Graphic Medicine, how and why comics can be used in patient care and health sciences education, and resources available online and at USC Libraries. (Graphic Medicine refers to graphic novels that provide a personal perspective on health, wellness, and illness.)

Renée also created a research guide on Graphic Medicine to support the presentation.
