Anita M. Caspary Archive: Free Thinking Women

This event celebrates the acquisition of the Anita Caspary Archive by USC Libraries. It consists of two panels that look at how we remember women who sought to re-envision the Catholic church despite its attempts to repress them. The first panel addresses the task of preserving women’s voices and the second explores the legacy of two extraordinary women, Sister Anita Caspary IHM in twentieth-century America and the medieval Beguine Hadewijch of Brabant.
