Norris Medical Library has a number of special collection items, including more than 1,500 historical medical volumes ranging from the 16th to the 20th century. For highlights, see this History of Medicine: Treasures @ NML guide. The Far West Medicine collection contains more than 90 titles on the history of medicine in California and the west from the early 20th century. The Webb Ethnopharmacology collection originated with materials on Native American ethnopharmacology donated by Dr. John Webb, a former professor at the USC School of Pharmacy.

Two human skulls and a variety of prostate, breast, and male and female pelvic anatomical models are available for checkout to patrons are available for in-library anatomical study.
