The Allan Hancock Foundation Archive contains the records of the Foundation established at USC by George Allan Hancock. The Foundation was dedicated to oceanographic research and exploration, and was housed in a building on USC's University Park Campus that included a Museum (composed of 4 rooms from the Hancock Mansion, originally situated at Vermont Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard), a Library (housing at its core the collection of the Boston Society of Natural History), and the broadcast center for KUSC.

Special Collections and the USC Libraries received two grants in 2017--from the Association for Recorded Sound Collections and the National Park Service--to digitize materials from this extensive archive. The full range of digitized materials is available in the USC Digital Library.
