USC Libraries Preparing for 2010 Good Neighbor Campaign

The USC Libraries are currently preparing for the 2010 Good Neighbors Campaign, an annual community relations program funded by donations from USC faculty and staff. For 15 years, the Good Neighbors Campaign (GNC) has improved the lives of children and families living in the neighborhoods around USC's University Park and Health Sciences campuses. 100% of the funds raised through the campaign go to the USC Neighborhood Outreach program.

Sara Tompson, Associate Dean for Public Service has been appointed to lead the libraries' GNC efforts. She is joined by Stephanie Foreman of the Dean's Suite, Najwa Hanel of the Science & Engineering Library, and John McIntyre of Advancement.

Last year, the libraries finished with a 66 percent participation rate, 25th among USC administrative units. This year, said Tompson, the libraries' goal is to improve in the rankings.

The libraries will officially kick off their Good Neighbors Campaign efforts at the October 7 Library Forum.
