Lost LA, the USC Libraries' public television co-production with PBS SoCal, has won its seventh Los Angeles Area Emmy Award.

At the 77th Annual Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards ceremony on Saturday, July 26, the Television Academy honored Lost LA's "Fast Food and Car Culture" episode with an award in the L.A. Local Color category. The episode explores the Southern California origins of fast food empires like McDonald's and Taco Bell through archival materials and interviews with expert journalists.

Receiving trophies on behalf of the USC Libraries were co-producer Bill Dotson, host and executive producer Nathan Masters, co-producer Anne-Marie Maxwell, and associate producer Micaela Rodgers. From PBS SoCal, recipients included director and director of photography Matt Bass, producer Angela Boisvert, executive producer Tamara Gould, supervising producer Kathy Kasaba, and editor Rick Pratt.

The Emmy win follows a string of recent accolades for Lost LA. In June, the series earned two Southern California Journalism Awards from the Los Angeles Press Club, and in March it received a Golden Mike Award from the Radio and Television News Association of Southern California.

Since its premiere in January 2016, Lost LA has received seven Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards, four Golden Mikes, thirteen awards from the Los Angeles Press Club, and a PRExcellence Best in Show Award from the California Library Association.
