Grants to USC Faculty Promote Information Literacy Integration in Undergraduate Courses

Instruction

From literature reviews to research papers to creative works, information literacy concepts and skills are used in every discipline throughout the research process. Information literacy is the set of abilities encompassing the discovery of information, how information is produced and valued, and the use of that information in creating new knowledge. Information literacy emphasizes reflection throughout this cycle and ethical participation in communities of learning.

The USC Libraries are now accepting applications from USC faculty for Undergraduate Information Literacy Course Enhancement Grants. This one-time grant opportunity is designed to jumpstart curricular implementation of the recently adopted USC Information Literacy Outcomes for Undergraduates and the recently filed Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) Information Literacy Framework for Higher Education. The deadline has been extended to October 7, 2015. Grant recipients will be awarded $200 to devote time to attend the information literacy workshop on Friday, October 16, 2015.
