Exploring Late Modernism Through the Lens of Wayne Thom

On June 2, the USC Libraries hosted an online event about the work of architectural photographer Wayne Thom, whose extensive archive is part of the libraries' Special Collections. Presented by USC Visions & Voices and organized in collaboration with the USC School of Architecture, Los Angeles Conservancy, and Docomomo/Southern California, the event celebrated the release of Wayne Thom: Photographing the Late Modern, a new book by Emily Bills. It featured a talk by Bills, followed by her conversation with Docomomo’s Katie Horak and USC Architecture professor Trudi Sandmeier. Later, Thom himself joined the event and fielded questions from the audience.
