Biblioclasm Exhibition Opens in Doheny Library

Biblioclasm: The Assault on Ideas from Homer to Harry Potter opened in Doheny Library on Friday, September 26. An audience of nearly 100 bibliophiles--including USC students and faculty, libraries staff and supporters, and members of the greater Los Angeles community--gathered to oppose the biblioclasts in our midst. An exhibition of drawings by students from the USC School of Architecture opened simultaneously in Doheny. The students's drawings were inspired by passages--representing imagined spaces--in the banned books on display in the Treasure Room. The exhibition will run through December 16, and you can visit the online companion to view a short video, read an essay by philosophy librarian Ross Scimeca, and view other resources we've selected to help you explore the topic further.
